B.A.B.Y. (Birthing, Awareness, Baby and You) Childbirth Education Class

NewBeginnings is pleased to provide a childbirth class entitled B.A.B.Y. The class is designed to inspire clients to learn, grow and become skilled and confident in natures’ birth process. The class looks at God’s perfect design for the birth of our client’s baby.

NewBeginnings saw a need for the community to have a childbirth education class. Current clients in the Earn While You Learn program as well as individuals in the community can attend the B.A.B.Y. Childbirth Education Class. The class is conducted by highly trained delivery nurses and volunteers.

The class is based on the Bradley Method ideals and helps clients practice:

  • Safe, Healthy, Natural Childbirth
  • Active participation of the birth partner
  • Excellent nutrition, the foundation of a healthy pregnancy
  • Avoidance of drugs during pregnancy and birth – unless absolutely necessary
  • Continuing regular exercise while doing pregnancy exercises to prepare birthing muscles
  • Gaining knowledge of the birth process and how to manage labor
  • Practicing relaxation and abdominal breathing continually until birth
  • Learning to tune into your own body and work with your labor
  • Immediate and continuous contact with your new baby
  • Breast-feeding, beginning at birth, and on demand thereafter
